Session Title: Turning the Humanitarian System on its Head
At NewCo Boston, festival goers will visit Oxfam America's headquarters near the North End and learn about our truly innovative work where we imagine a world free of poverty. The session will include a fast tour of office and the teams who make this work possible. Following, there will be a thought provoking presentation by Carlos Mejia and Nahuel Arenas who have decades of combined experience working in disaster areas including South Sudan, Chad, Columbia, and Yemen. They will address how the currently overstretched and underfunded humanitarian system must be rethought in order to meet new global realities. With images and video from the field as well as an interactive Q&A, festival goers will come away inspired and motivated to help change the world. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
